This site is about God,
Prayer and Angels, three very important subjects in the
life of any person who follows most religious beliefs. Angels
are messengers of God and their sole purpose is to do his
will. By emulating Angels, being messengers of God and doing
his will, we ascend to a higher understanding of our own
purpose.
This site is dedicated
to the memory of Zelda Siedeman, a woman that I only knew
during the last year of her life, however, a woman that
had a profound effect on my life. Zelda taught me the true
power of Angels and Prayer. It is my hope that Zelda's belief
in the power of Prayer will live on in this virtual medium.
In
a written Memorial to his mother, Joel Seideman wrote the
following concerning her life and her accomplishments.
"My
mother loved, indeed, my mother lived to help people. She
counseled numerous people on making claims for veteran's
entitlements, medical benefits, public assistance, and educational
aid. She promoted several marriages, both Jewish and Gentile.
She aided new immigrants, comforted the sick, assuaged the
mentally ill, visited the aged and consoled the bereaved.
She held many a hand, wiped many a tear, mopped many a fevered
brow, for complete strangers, as well as family and friends.
My
mother was fervently charitable. In the months prior to
her death, when I collected her mail, she received solicitations
from over 100 charities, to each of which she had contributed
at lease once. She donated money to medical, social, religious,
educational, and political causes. She went door-to-door
as a United Way collector. She worked as a Muscular Dystrophy
Telethon volunteer. She stood on sidewalks with coin boxes,
soliciting charity for Jewish institutions. She gave her
blood to the Red Cross.
My
Mother was an insatiable volunteer. In her latter years,
her numerous forays into volunteerism for the Senior Center,
the State Police, and the Veterans Administration, gained
her induction into the Maryland Senior Citizens Hall Of
Fame.
My
Mother was intensely patriotic. During W.W.II, she was an
employee of Lend-Lease, a volunteer at Union Memorial Hospital,
and a hostess at the local USO. She married a soldier. She
later worked for the US Army for 20 years. Every July Fourth,
she displayed the flag. Every Memorial day, she tended my
father's grave."
(Proverbs, 3.1) give
her due credit for her achievements, and let her works praise
her."
